MATHCOUNTS
General Information
Who: Accelerated students who are interested take a School Competition test in early January to compete for a place on the team. Ten students qualify to participate in the MATHCOUNTS competitions. (Most students who take the school competition are also in Math League.)
What: MATHCOUNTS is a competitive mathematics program that promotes mathematics achievement through fun and engaging contests. MATHCOUNTS helps high achieving students develop enhanced problem solving and mathematical reasoning skills in a collaborative, team environment.
When: Meet before school from January through early March, usually on Fridays.
Where: FRMS for practices; area college for the chapter competition. (State Competition is held in Plymouth in March.)
Cost: Free
Application/Registration: Signed permission slip required - available from Coach Abendroth.
