Season: February 24 - Tuesday, April 15

Practice: 3:20-4:50p.m. Monday thru Friday

Signup on EduTrak: $110

Sports Physical Required: A Sports Physical must be on file before you can register on EduTrak. Completed physicals which have been signed by a physician can be dropped off at the FRMS office or faxed to 952-431-8770.

To secure a guaranteed spot on the team, students must be registered before the first day of practice with a sports physical on file and payment made through EduTrak. Students who register after the first day of practice will be wait-listed and cannot be guaranteed a spot on the team.

General Info: We are very excited to work with your son on the Falcon Ridge Basketball Team! The first week of practice will be used as a “tryout”, or evaluation period to determine the placement of the boys on the A team, B team, or C team depending on the number of participants.

Practices end at 4:50 PM with the activity buses leaving FRMS at 5:00 PM from the downstairs parking lot/door 7. Students not riding the activity bus must be picked up by 5 PM in the downstairs parking lot/door 7.

Please note, away competitions last past 5 PM . In these instances, families will need to pick up their student(s) immediately following the contest.

Dear FRMS 8^th Grade Boys Basketball Parents:

I am very excited to work with your son on the 2024 Falcon Ridge 8^th Grade Basketball Team. In order to start our season off well, I would like to inform you about our practice and game schedules, as well as some requirements for participating on the FRMS Boys Basketball team.

First of all, we will practice everyday from 3:20 until 4:45. As with our other sports seasons, there will be activity buses provided to take the boys home after practice. If you choose to pick your son up, please make sure he is picked up by 5:00.

Each team member is required to be at practice every day. If your son needs to miss a practice, please email me or send a note explaining the reason for the absence. In order for the team and the individual to be the very best they can, maximum participation is needed.

The 8^th grade coaches this year will be myself, Mr. Flowers and Ms. Paino (Additional coaches will be added depending on numbers of participants.)

The first week of practice will be used as a “tryout”, or evaluation period to determine the placement of the boys on the A team, B team, or C team depending on the number of participants. There will be NO CUTS. The coaches will decide which team each boy will play on to help the player find the greatest opportunity for individual and team success. As with any team sport, a basketball team is made up of players who all fill different roles. As coaches, we will work hard to provide a positive atmosphere in which each of the boys will learn and grow as a member of this basketball team.

At the end of week one, each boy will be issued a game jersey. It will be your son’s responsibility to keep the jersey clean and return it at the end of the season.   Your son will need to provide his own black game shorts. He will also need a change of clothes for practice as well as comfortable athletic shoes to wear for practices and games.

The game schedule will be distributed as soon as it is finalized by the district athletic directors. (At the end of this week) Games are usually done by 5:15-5:30. “B” and “C” games are played first starting @ 3:45. The “A” game follows, starting at about 4:30. Students are bused to and from away games. Parents can pick up students from an away game as long as the parent signs out his/her own son with the coaches
