October 28, 2024
Dear Parents/Guardians,
FRMS Girls Basketball begins on Monday, October 28th Coach Liekis, Coach Flowers, and I are so excited to get to meet and coach your 7th or 8th student-athlete. We want to encourage them in playing basketball and developing their skills.
We will be playing games against other District 196 middle schools over the course of this season.
The goals for the season will be as follows:
1. To learn fundamental skills
2. To improve daily through practice
3. To develop a high level of self-discipline
4. To be a good citizen, good role-model and good sport
5. To have fun while learning and improving
We invite you to attend as many games as you can. Your support and encouragement are so important!
The expectations I have for the team are as follows:
1. All players are expected to attend practices and games.
2. We understand conflicts arise that may cause your student-athlete to miss a practice or a game. In fact, we usually have many players that are involved in multiple activities such as the Winter FRMS Musical Performance, Traveling Athletics, or other previous commitments that might conflict with several practices or games. Please send a note or email letting us know.
3. We practice every day beginning at 3:20 until 4:50, please have rides set up each day. There are activity buses available to bring student-athletes home if they live in our attendance boundary. Students will need an activity bus pass to get on the activity bus. Activity buses leave at 5:00.
4. Depending on the number of student-athletes we will have three teams (Gold - Coach Liekis, Black - Coach Flowers, and White - Coach Paino). Tip-off for Coach Flower's and Coach Paino's teams are typically at 3:45 PM, and games usually conclude by 4:45 PM. Tip-off for the Coach Liekis's team is typically 4:45 PM, and games finish by 6:00 PM.
We are so looking forward to a great season!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact via email or call 952-431-8760.
Sincerely,
Debra Paino (debra.paino@district196.org)
