2022
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
Our names are Jeremiah Slattery & Drew Riley, and we are the Falcon Ridge Track & Field coaches. We are very pleased your student(s) has/have chosen to participate in a co-curricular activity at FRMS.
Track and Field is a unique sport that is both an individual and team activity. We are excited to work with a group of young athletes.
Here’s how to sign your student up for Track & Field if you haven’t done that already:
- Log onto the FRMS website and go to the Athletics tab.
- Select “Track & Field”
- Complete the following forms and look at the links:
- MyPayments Plus Login (See note below)
- Sports Physicals (informational)
- Sports Physical Form (3yrs) This form needs to be sent to the school nurse. Kim Sikkink Kimberly.sikkink@district196.org NOTE: This form needs to be completed and sent to Ms. Sikkink BEFORE you can complete the MyPayments Plus.
We have created a “SCHOOLOGY GROUP” for FRMS Track & Field and once the student athletes are registered to participate, they will become members in the Group. We use this platform to communicate important information about practices, meets, and things that pop-up throughout the day/week.
Practices occur Monday-Friday from 3:20 PM – 4:45 PM. Students can be picked up at the lower or upper entrances to FRMS no later than 5:00 PM. Activity buses (Available for students living within the FRMS attendance boundaries) leave FRMS at 5:00 PM and provide transportation home for students who are not being picked-up by parents/guardians.
We do not have a finalized Track Meet Schedule at this time. Track Meets take place at ISD 196 High School Track facilities . . . Apple Valley H.S., Eastview H.S., Eagan H.S., and Rosemount H.S. When the schedule is finalized, it will be posted online and sent out in the previously mentioned “Schoology Group.” (Typically Meets take place on Wednesdays).
Usually, Track Meets run longer than practices . . . District 196 has created guidelines that state Middle School Track Meets should conclude by 6:00 PM. Parents/Guardians may pick-up students from the Meet sites, but there is a bus that transports students from the Meet back to FRMS if parents are unable to attend the Meet. Unfortunately, we ALWAYS return to FRMS later than activity buses leave the school . . . so, parents/guardians will need to pick students up promptly on Track Meet days.
If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact either of us at jere.slattery@district196.org or drew.riley@district196.org
Sincerely,
Jeremiah Slattery & Drew Riley
