MEASURE OF ACADEMIC PROGRESS (MAP) TESTS IN READING AND MATH THIS WEEK FOR COHORT A AND B STUDENTS
Our students in Cohort A and B will experience an altered school schedule this week as we take the NWEA MAP tests in both Reading and Math. Each class period is shortened to 30 minutes and students will take the norm-referenced assessment on their iPads in their 3rd hour classes. We will take the Reading assessment on Monday/Tuesday, and the Math assessment on Thursday/Friday.
These assessments will be so helpful for us to measure academic growth over the past year. Although we definitely want students to do their best, these are not high stakes tests and shouldn't increase student anxiety. These are just one data point we can use to measure growth, it is certainly not the only data point.
We are working on a plan for our Digital Academy students to take their MAP test from home in the coming weeks. We will communicate directly with Digital Academy families when we are ready to MAP test with Digital Academy students.
PLEASE help your child remember to charge their iPads overnight prior to testing this week. Coming to school with a charged iPad is all the preparation they will need.
