Soar-A-Thon

 

We are kicking off our third annual Falcon Soar-a-thon - our building fundraiser. We have chosen not to engage in traditional fundraising such as selling items for which FRMS only receives a fraction of the proceeds. We have decided instead to ask our community for donations that directly and quickly impact our students.

 

In the past we have used the fundraiser to purchase new athletic uniforms for our basketball and volleyball teams. We've purchased math manipulatives that help our students learn math both conceptually and procedurally through visual and tactile means. Our mental health support team has furnished and opened our calming room to help support our students regulate emotions and decrease the impact of anxiety during the day. We are looking forward to being able to support more of our worthwhile endeavors wished for by our staff with a successful donation drive this November.

Our timing coincides with Give to the Max Day in Minnesota. We have heard from families in our community that many employers use November as a month where they will match donations and we can provide gift letters for documentation of charitable giving. We would love if each of our students could generate $50 in donations over the next month. There are so many fun and enriching projects we'd like to support!
